<Profile of Hiroko Shoami>

From Niigata prefecture,JAPAN. Graduated from Tokyo Woman's Christian University.
Started having lesson of diamond point from Ms. Toshie Miyazawa in 1996 and estalished Glas Krone to become representatie in 2005. In 2007 started having lesson of gravure from Mr. Takeichi Aono. Seeks for uique world of beauty combining diamond point and gravure, and works to promote diamond point. Now instructor at NHK Gakuen, Yomiuri Culture Center, and belongs to Japan Glass Artcrafts Association (JGAA), Gravure Workshop, The Guild of Glass Engravers(England), Glass Art Society(USA).

<Glass Metamorphose>

The time when I face with glass which is colorless and transparent is my happiest moment. Glass - from liquid to solid, and further change to the one engraved. Pursuing the further beauty I will confront with glass and engrave giving life and prey in it.

<Diamond Point>
Diamond Point is the classical glass art which give ornament
using special diamond needle originated in Veneziz, Italy in 16th century.
The dedicate and elegant ornament which are produced with diamond point
has been popular among many people in the world.

<GLSKRONE>
Krone is a German word which means crown or crown of king
and also round staff, ring and loop.
The name of "Glas Krone" was given with the hope of the relationship
through glass becoming large circle.
